Slate If Everyone Cared And Swallowed Their Pride, Then We'd See A Day When Nobody Died
The shaded area was silent as the zebra moved with quiet grace. His ebon and ivor pattern made him stand out from the dreary green foliage, the opposite of what the stripes were made to do. Short mane mohawked down the back of the beasts muscular neck and his hindquarters and shoulders rolled with each step. Tail lashed out at the pesky flies that flew throughout the area and occasionaly his ears would go back to show annoyance to the pathetic creatures.
Ebon hooves sunk low into the damp soil as he slowly wound through the path. Slate was alone and that was the way he liked it but he doubted it would be this way for long.

Her mind was rushing with the plans that she was making to somehow free her brother. She had been warned against it by countless Nephilim's in the camp. But her safety no longer mattered to her. What mattered was getting her half brother out and alive. She needed to save him because no one else would. She knew that it was suicide in a way, for she would surely lose her freedom as well. But she knew that it would give her half brother the hope and the life that he needed. It would let him know that there were those who were actually trying to free them. The young Nephilim just needed to clear her head now however. She ddin't know what to think anymore. She wanted to save him, but right now all of her ideas and her plans seemed to bring her to one conclusion. There was no way that she was going to get him and her out alive.
So she was taking a walk. A walk to clear her head and a walk to sort herself out. Harper needed to just be by herself for a while, and she knew what form would bring her that peace. As soon as she stepped foot out of her small home, she shifted into the silent form of a white tailed deer. The petite doe looked innocent and as if she belonged in the wild. No one could really tell if she was honestly a white tailed deer or a Nephilim, and that was what she preferred at this point in time. No hunters or people to deal with, and that was fine with her. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she allowed her cloven hooves to sink gently in the soft dirt beneath her as she made her way into the forested areas. It was so quiet, and she was able to hear everything magnified, which was exactly what she wanted. She felt like she could sort out her thoughts and her issues this way, and as she stepped around the corner, something changed all of that. She hadn't been that aware of her surroundings. Harper froze at the sight of the strange looking animal, and realized she had never seen a zebra before. The doe blended in a lot better with the intense foliage around her, but she was out in the open enough for him to notice her. She stayed where she was, not recognizing the one in front of her. She didn't want to appear rude, even though Harper didn't usually care about that sort of thing. Hesitating, she finally spoke up. "Sorry to intrude.." She spoke out quickly, and stepped backwards at the same instance.
